Hundreds of students could be seen scattered throughout the Windham Center School gym on Feb. 12 during “Jump Rope for Heart” as the boys and girls sweated it out in the name of good health.  The national education and fundraiser event is sponsored by the American Heart Association and the American Alliance for Health.  As a way to engage kids actively as well as teaching them leadership, teamwork and communication skills, this fun and educational day was one the students will not soon forget.

The students participated in various contests, such as timed repetition for both boys and girls, as well as the sometimes intimidating double-dutch challenge.  A handful of Windham High School students also could be seen that day encouraging the younger generation, not to mention participating themselves.  Not one student or teacher could be seen without a grin on their face as this school community grew strong with camaraderie while learning the value of community service.
