It was a day of culture at the Presentation of Mary Academy in Hudson. Several exchange students are visiting from the Kenmei Girls Jr. and Sr. High School, which educates girls from grades seven through 12 in Himeji City in West Japan.
The Presentation of Mary Academy in Methuen, Mass., is hosting the students for the next two weeks. The three schools in Hudson, Methuen, and Japan are all founded by the Presentation of Mary Sisters. The exchange students did an amazing presentation of the history of their country. They spoke of the geisha traditions of dance and music and the history of ninjas and Samurai Japanese knights. The girls brought lots of traditional Japanese children’s games similar to chess, bean bags to juggle, and Japanese paper balloons. Lots of students in the audience tried the games for themselves. The presentation ended with information about the foods and sweets in Japan. The exchange students shared their candy with the American students and they loved it!
