Hudson Teachers Get a Timely Gift for 25 Years of Service

September 1, 2017

It is always great to see Hudson teachers receive a watch for 25 years of service.  In SAU 81 on Friday, at the total gathering of Hudson school personnel, two outstanding teachers received their special timepieces:

Suzanne Sawyer, Alvirne High School

“Sue Sawyer is an Alvirne graduate who we are fortunate to have teaching math for us.  Sue is dynamic in the classroom with strong content knowledge and organization to go with her deep care for building relationships with her students.  Sue is a valued colleague to all in our math department and whole school.  She simply cares for people and her strong sense of humor and active listening skills help makes others feel comfortable.  Sue loves her family and our dress down days so she can show her Boston sports team and Alvirne Pride.”

Bev Stanley, Library Street School

“Bev makes every student feel like they are the most important person and student in the world to her – and each one of them truly is. She is passionate about teaching and has high expectations, yet her focus is always on the child; their self-esteem, their progress, their growth as learners. This has earned her the respect of her students, parents and colleagues. Bev is that positive teacher who makes the workplace a better place for everyone. She creates a sense of community in her classroom that carries through the school. She is professional at all times, collaborative, insightful, and highly respected by her peers, yet has a delightful sense of humor that helps us all keep things in perspective.

The ELC and the Hudson School District are better places because of Bev Stanley.”
