Hudson Tax Rate Increases by 27 CentsOctober 31, 2014 Financial Director Kathy Carpenter presented the 2014 tax rate to Hudson Selectmen, which represented a 27-cent increase. In conjunction with the New Hampshire Department of Revenue, the Hudson rate will be $20.83 per each $1,000 of property evaluation.
The 27-cent increase is calculated using the following breakdown. The Town of Hudson’s new rate is $6.34, which is down 3 cents from the 2013 rate of $6.37. The school district goes from $10.45 last year to $10.77 for 2014, an increase of 32 cents. The state school taxation is down 4 cents to $2.49, while the county assessment goes from $1.21 in 2013 to $1.23 in 2014. This calculation includes using $500,000 from surplus to hold down the overall increase. The selectmen were told that an average home valued at $256,000 would incur a $69 annual tax impact.
