Hudson Fish and Game Club Gearing up for Annual Thanksgiving Day Dinner

November 22, 2019

The Hudson Fish and Game Club of Hudson will be holding its Annual Thanksgiving Day Dinner event on Thursday, Nov. 28.  The club is actively looking for volunteers and monetary donations to assist in its effort to offer Thanksgiving meals to as many local families in need as possible.  Many volunteers are needed to help make this big event happen smoothly.  Anyone wanting to help out at the club, or to make food deliveries, should go to and follow the instructions.

The club is looking for help on Wednesday, Nov. 27, for cutting up vegetables, packaging rolls, fruits, desserts, etc.  On Thanksgiving Day, the 28th, food line-and-delivery helpers will start to filter in around 9:30 a.m.  Drivers will then arrive around 10:30 to get their delivery assignments.

Food items can still be donated.  Sixteen- to 20-pound turkeys are gladly being accepted until Nov. 25.  In addition, store-bought pies, yams, winter squash, and canned vegetables can be donated until Nov. 27.  Any donated items should be left inside the front entrance of the fish and game building.  The Hudson Fish and Game Club is located on Pine Road in south Hudson, off River Road.

While the members did not mention the number of requests for meals this year, they have, in past years, served and delivered to up to 1,500 residents of the Greater-Hudson area.  Make a Thanksgiving resolution to assist your neighbors in need by extending a helping hand to ensure that each family receives what they need for this holiday meal.  The holidays are always a wonderful time to give back to your community by contributing your time and talents.  Providing a delicious, traditional meal can translate into a happy, memorable holiday for so many around town.  It is all too easy to take this special meal for granted.
