Families Flock to Strawberry Festival

Thousands of area residents chose to spend their May 31st enjoying the Strawberry Festival, fittingly the 31st annual event, the largest community event hosted by the Friends of the Library of Windham each year.  The event actually is the primary fundraiser for the Nesmith Library, single handedly supporting the institution while inevitably giving back to the community.  Families of all ages from Windham and neighboring towns could be seen enjoying the many activities the festival had to offer, such as carnival games, bounce houses, live music, performances, raffles, fresh cooked food, and, of course, homemade strawberry shortcake.  Held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., the day turned out to be a beautiful one as the clouds dispersed letting bright sun light and cool breezes throughout the Windham High School parking lot.
