submitted by Hudson Fire Department
A 9-1-1 call sent 27 responders to a brush fire on Lockwood Drive in Hudson on Saturday afternoon, July 2. Upon arrival, fire companies found approximately two acres of brush burning about 1,000 feet deep into the woods off a trail at the end of the road. No injuries occurred, and no structures were threatened or in danger. Dry conditions and wind required additional mutual aid equipment and personnel to assist in extinguishment, containment and overhaul of the fire. The call for assistance was the equivalent of two alarms. Fire personnel from Hudson, Nashua, Derry, Londonderry, Litchfield and Pelham responded to the scene or provided station coverage.
