Students, staff, alumni and friends of Continental Academie held their fifth annual event to promote awareness for congenital heart defects.  Congenital heart defects affect one in every 100 babies and is the leading cause of infant death in the U.S.

The fundraisers have benefitted the Children’s Hospital at Dartmouth.

Continental Academie has honored Parker Bolton, an 8-year-old boy who has hyperplastic left heart syndrome (a type of CHD) is a frequent flyer at CHaD, and the reason this event happens each year.  Parker was on hand to get a haircut and to also try his luck with our raffle.

During the event, people were able to get any service done.  Students, and also some alumni, were on hand to perform any services that were requested.  A bake sale with some sweet treats, as well as raffle items and a 50/50 raffle helped increase the donation.

Entertainment for the night was current Berklee School of Music student Andrew Edward Garcia on guitar, playing old and new styles of the blues.

The raffles are continuing till the end of the month of February, so far Continental Academie has raised over $2,000 for CHaD.

Continental Academie thanks each and every student, alumnus, client and member of the community who came to support this great cause.  They all made this Continental Academie’s biggest and best event to date.
