Campbell Wrestling Undefeated in Divisional Contests

With the recent win over John Stack High School, the Campbell Cougars are undefeated in NHIAA Division 3 contests. The Cougar wrestling team took on league rival John Stark along with Division II powerhouse Milford at home on Wednesday, Jan. 6. In their first bout against John Stark, Campbell took care of business, defeating a depleted Generals team by a score of 33-4. This improves Campbell to four wins in their division, making the Cougars the number-one seed in Division 3.
Campbell and Milford battled all night in impressive style. Milford came into the Cougar Den with a 3-0 record in Division II. After back-and-forth matches by both teams, Milford ended up on top with an exciting 35 to 33 win. The match came down to the last bout of the night with Milford’s Ricky Debernado defeating Campbell’s Tyler McCrady at 138 pounds, by a score of 15-12. Campbell is now 4-2 overall and hosts Concord, Windham, and ConVal on Saturday.
The Campbell Cougar wrestling team hosted a quad meet on Saturday, Jan. 9, with Concord, Windham and ConVal. In the end, the Cougars went 1 and 2 on the day, but wrestled well in each match. Freshman Robert Ladd had a tremendous day going 3-0. The Cougars competed in a match at home on Wednesday against Franklin. Photos are action from the Saturday quad meet at the Cougar Den.
