AJ’s Sports Bar Grill was the start and the finish for a benefit Sunday to support the children of John Wettergreen who died in a motorcycle accident in June of this year.

More than 200 people filled the pub as the ride got under way with kick stands up at 10:30 a.m. accompanied by Hudson police cruisers.  The 44-mile tour took the riders from Hudson first into Londonderry, Windham, Derry, and back to Londonderry into Litchfield and down the Charles Bancroft Highway through Litchfield and back to AJ’s.

Upon their return, there was food and drink, a cornhole tourney and music into the evening from the Summer Breeze band and many raffle items to bid on.  As the day came to a close, the tally sheet show that just about $10,000 had been raised.

The Wettergreen family and the event organizers say thank you to AJ’s Sports Bar, Summer Breeze, Skull It Cornhole, and the Hudson Police Department and to Hudson Police Sergeant Patrick McStravick and Officer Taylor Morin for leading the ride!
